Beauty at Giorgio Armani Spring 2025 Was All About Eyes

Soft, subtle hair met double-winged eyeliner at Giorgio Armani's spring 2025 show in New York.

You could hear a pin drop behind the scenes of Giorgio Armani’s spring 2025 collection in New York Thursday.

True to form, the beauty looks may have dealt in subtleties, but they certainly went a bit louder.

“The spirit of adventure is the key theme for the makeup,” said Hiromi Ueda, Armani Beauty global makeup artist. “We started with a natural base — Luminous Silk Foundation and Concealer — and added warmth to the cheeks. I wanted to keep it natural, so the focus goes to the eyes.”

The eyes, set in double-winged eyeliner, featured a mix of black and burgundy liners. “I wanted to make it a bit softer [than black],” Ueda said. “And I wanted to have nice, natural lips to balance out that soft, elegant, effortless look.”

Hair also had a softer touch, masterminded by Orlando Pita. “Many of the girls wore hats, so we did a ponytail that we brought forward and has little wispy bangs sticking out,” Pita said. “It makes the look a bit cuter and sweeter. The line of the hat alone is a bit severe.”

Other girls had a take on a traditional twist. “We take two pieces from the sides, do a ponytail in the middle and then tuck everything inside,” Pita said. “Mr. Armani likes a smaller head than a bigger one.”

On male models, the intention was to get “curly, messy, sexy kinds of hair styles,” Pita said. “Sometimes we’re curling the hair, and sometimes we’re not, but we make it all uniform.”
